George's First Month - Part 2

(I actually wrote the last post 1 week ago but somehow didn't publish it...oops!)
So our little guy is a month old now! WOW time flies!!!!

He continues to gain weight SO well....he is up 3 lbs 4 oz from his birth weight!

He (objectively of course) keeps getting cuter and has the most smooch-able little feet:)

He's such a good napper!

Pippi Amanda LOVES her little brother and makes sure to keep him company during his naps (but one eye open to make sure he doesn't get into any mischief :)

I finally broke down and took a picture of myself with the bambino. This is not a great picture of me, but I want George to know that I DID hold him as an infant! I was there!

My sleeping babies :)

One of my very favorite things is fat cheeked babies....and George definitely qualifies! Ha!

I am loving every single minute of "maternity leave!"

I made my schedule for October today. I feel so conflicted! I love work and I'm looking forward to going back....sort of. But then when you get to spend time with your favorite little person all day, that's pretty great too.

We've hired a really great, really sweet nanny so that makes me feel better. BUT I think the biggest comfort is that a lot of nights that I work these guys will get to hang out together and have "man time" :)

George already LOVES his Dad.

After Jonathan gets home from work, I have to pry George away for night time cuddling because they like to be together so much.

They like to watch TV shows...especially Iron Chef America and Chopped.

George is gleaning tips so that he will be a great cook like his dad.

I see SO much of Jonathan in George, even as young as he is.

I wonder if I will start seeing myself? Some times a catch little glimmers of my expressions, but I think it's rare.

That's ok though. I married Jonathan because I think he's SO handsome, and now I have 2 of him so that's double lucky. Haha :)

I REALLY wish I had a better camera! Mine is so old....I have picked out a new one I want, but it may have to wait until Christmas, $$$.

One of the main disappointments with the current camera is the lighting and focus (or maybe it's the user). George has the MOST beautiful blue eyes, but they always look so dark in these pictures!

Maybe because I take so many at night after Jonathan gets home and I have to use the flash.

We will try getting some in the day time soon and see if that works!

Next week George and I will be joining my parents (and Coley relatives, yay!) at the beach! The only sad part is that Jonathan won't be able to go :( We will miss him so much but it will be a wonderful break from Vineland and give us some new scenery as we nurse and change myriad diapers :) There will also be lots of fun, fresh people to love on our little Baby G!

George, you have made your daddy's and my past month one of the most exciting and special of our lives and we adore you more than words can express. You have already grown SO much and I'm trying not to be sentimental about it. We absolutely can't wait to watch you grow during the coming months!

George's First Month - Part 1

I need to write blogs more often! It's amazing how much I have forgotten about the last 3 weeks....it's already a blur even though I was determined to remember it all. George is absolutely the most well behaved baby! He is so good and loves to be cuddled (here with cousin Lottie).

He LOVES snuggling with Jonathan and the feeling is mutual.

The Moby wrap is a favorite at the moment for George and Jonathan since the can be close and Jonathan still has hands free to do work at the same time.

They are so in love with each other :)

Jonathan and I have nightly admiration sessions, telling George that he is the most perfect, wonderful thing on Earth. At some point, when he can understand what we're saying, we will probably have to stop this or we will probably cause him to have some sort of complex. In the mean time though, it's a main topic of conversation :)

Our nightly routine includes Baby G and Daddy snuggle time while Mama takes a shower and gets ready for bed too.

This is what usually happens :)

George still loves his Snugabunny. He loves when it vibrates and sings bird songs to him.

You would think, looking at the pictures in this post that George spends all his time in the bouncy seat or held by Daddy. There are no pictures of me holding him!!!! I think this is because I make most of the pictures and have an extra hand to use the camera when Jonathan's home or when he's in his seat :)

However, the reality is that I get to hold him 95% of the time he's awake! I absolutely love it (and I think he does too)! Our days consist of naps, nursing, and changing LOTS of diapers.

He makes a million cute faces and I try to memorize each one.

He doesn't social smile yet, but he makes all sorts of faces including smiles and giggles, especially when he's falling asleep. He's such a little boy already - "see my muscles mama!" haha :)

I NEED to figure out how to make some pictures of the two of us....hmmm....some long-armed self portraits may be coming soon. Here is my hand at least. Oh how I love this soft, silky little head! It's the best, sweetest feeling in the world.

He looks so much like Jonathan when I look at him from certain angles such as looking down at him. I think it's the nose and cheeks!

George had his first visit to Athens last week! It was so much fun and he LOVED Grandma and Grandpa's house and all the fantastic cuddling with them :) We went up for the day but ended up spending the night because we had so much fun (and because Jonathan thought it was too dangerous to drive at night - such a careful dad now :). I didn't take any pictures from the weekend because LOTS were taken by "the grandparazzi," so I got lazy. On our way home we went to see some one very special. George loved Grace and I think it was mutual!

George is eating so well! He nurses every 3 hours for about 45 minutes (sleepy mama) and has gained over 2 lbs in the first 3 weeks. Go mother's milk!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the little fat rolls that are appearing in all the cute places!

Fat baby wrists make me melt...

The fat thighs and chubby cheeks totally do me in :)

Handsome daddy holding the chubby sweetness is just the icing on the cake.

Speaking of handsome daddy....George takes after him in so many ways. Not the least of which is clothing. Jonathan bought him this little outfit right after we found out we were having a boy baby.

We were feeling hungry, not inclined to go to the grocery store, and (at least I was) a little stir crazy from being house-bound. SO...we decided to venture out to dinner as a family of 3 for the first time!

Jonathan dressed Baby George.

(CUTE, but maybe little tired you think?)

He was such a good, good boy!

We had a wonderful dinner and George didn't make a single peep the whole time. Such a polite baby!

George may look like Jonathan, but he takes after me in a BIG way with his love of baths! He absolutely loves to be in the water and only cries when you take him out :)

The only thing better than baths, though, is post-bath daddy cuddle/sleep time!

The only thing more relaxing than a sleeping puppy is a sleeping baby making all sorts of cute squeaky snores :)

George sleeps a lot of course, but he has PLENTY of fun awake times.

A typical face.....

On Jonathan's days off, he usually lets me sleep for a little longer and he and George hang out together. Jonathan FINALLY has someone to watch cartoons with! Ha! He's teaching George all about the X-men :)

I do get REALLY sleepy....but then as I'm stumbling back to bed for round 2 of nursing after 3AM diaper change....I see this...and I'm so much more happy than I am tired :)

We are enjoying this stage of ours and George's life so incredibly much. It's so fleeting and so special and we are so grateful for every single moment!
